Back to fine sunny day a good selection of MGs We welcomed Tim Rowe from the MGF Register, and good to see Bob Ingham back from his annual trip to the other side of the world in Australia.
Most of the chat was about our second run, on our Natter day on 21st September; the “Battles Run” around the various English battle sites around and in York. It will start and finish at our regular haunt – ‘The Masons’ at Hopperton from 10am. Other MGGC members are welcome to join us by contacting me – kencothliff@hotmail.co.uk.
Other conversations were about a busy August/September with shows at Temple Newsham, Leeds and Otley, and a new event at the local Punchbowl Inn at Marton-cum-Grafton, as well as the forthcoming Dales Run.
Monthly report Vale of York Natter MGCC
Hi Folks,
Another great sunny day and selection of attractive MGs of all sorts.
Main subject discussed was the forthcoming “Battles Run” complied by Dave Fletcher and Chas Hills, under the guidance of yours truly. Depending on how you follow our suggested route the mileage will be between 70 and 90 Miles. Starting and finishing at the Masons. I’ll be there from 9.45, and there will be no regular fee, just a donation to Natter funds. I’d like you to give some thought to our supporting a local charity, such as Martin House Children’s Hospice. Let me have your thoughts on this at the October Natter
The Masons will be serving coffee, paid for by the Natter funds, from 10am. Kim will have a menu, and will offer lunch from 2pm, so take your time and enjoy the run. It would help her to serve without a wait if you give her your selection before you depart. No hurry to be there. We’ll be planning for arrivals up to 11ish.
However we do need to know numbers, for Dave to run off the route book, so please let me know if you are coming by 8 September at the latest. The run has been opened to all Yorkshire area members.
Other items – I’m still looking for names for Otley vintage Transport Extravaganza – 10th September. Need to have names by the end of the month. This is a good show – plenty to see.
Also Rob Lowery drew my attention to a Classic car event at Punch Bowl at Marton-cum-Grafton on Sat. 26th August, and there’s the Classic Car meet at the Golden Lion, Northallerton Sunday 8th October. Finally I’m still involved in the meet & BBQ at the Woolpack at Esholt – next one Wed. eve from 6pm 13th Sept.
Happy Driving! Hope to see some of you on the Dales Run on 27th.
