South Yorkshire Natter Notes for this month, covering 1st to 31st May 2021 period.
As Covid restrictions were being eased with more people allowed to meet outside, the South Yorkshire Natter were splitting themselves into small groups based on where they lived in order to meet up for walks. Fortunately, a few Natter members live close to make it easy to meet at the many good walk locations here in South Yorkshire. Geoff, Malcolm, Keith and Mike formed a “Wednesday Walk Club” taking it in turns to pick a venue. One venue picked by Keith was the well known 1 hour walk round Langsett Reservoir. Fortunately the weather held good for that walk and for the previous Wednesday when Malcolm picked an exploratory walk round the grounds of Wentworth Woodhouse which had an added bonus as it was now possible to see the fabulous House in all its splendour having had the scaffolding removed after extensive repairs and refurbishment to the exterior and full length roof structures. Hopefully before too much longer it will be possible for the SY Natter to organise a “Natter Walk” as a full “drive it” and “walk it” day out for all its members.
As restrictions have not been lifted the SY Natter for May will still have to be held via a Zoom meeting on the 4th Wednesday of the month, 26th May 2021. Natter Leader Geoff Norcliffe will let everyone know the time and send out a link. Should the Government road map allow restrictions to be lifted in June it could be possible to hold the first live SY Natter Meeting for 15 months at that stage. Again, Geoff will send out an email to explain any different details.
