Valle of York – Ken Cothliff

On 21st September, our Natter Day, we had the ‘Battles Run’ put together by Dave Fletcher, and Chas Hills, with help from yours truly. This was a trip of some 70 miles around the majority of the sites of various Battles in the York area. The forecast by the BBC was pretty poor: rain supposed to be taking all day to pass through. This understandably put many people off; in truth the morning started bright and stayed dry until a small shower greeted the first few cars back to the Masons. We had about fifteen cars on the run, and it was enjoyed by all, some cars completing it with hoods down.

That is our last run this year, though some members will be joining the Tyne Tees group on their Autumn Leaves run, late in October.

Monthly report Vale of York Natter MGCC – September

 Hi Folks,

Last Thursday – Natter Day – we had the Battles Run put together by Dave Fletcher, and Chas Hills with help from yours truly. The forecast by the BBC was pretty poor with rain taking all day to pass through. This understandably put many people off; in truth the morning started bright and stayed dry until a small shower greeted the first few cars back to the Masons. We were joined by a group from the South Yorkshire Natter. We had about fifteen cars on the run, and it was enjoyed by all

Yours truly navigated for our area president, Alan Dakeyne, and we completed the run non-stop in an hour and twenty minutes. What say we do it again next year?

Two other things to bring to your attention – a Classic Car meeting and Autojumble at the Golden Lion pub in Northallerton on Sunday 8th October – I won’t be able to go, but anyone is welcome, and Northallerton has a good shopping area for the Ladies. It would be nice to have a VoY MGCC presence.

The other thing is that do any of us want to get together to go to the Classic Car show in Birmingham? I’m up for it as I didn’t go last year. Any takers let me know in October! We also need to plan our Natter Christmas Lunch.

That’s all for now. See you on 19th October.
