All MG Natters have been invited to enter Foreman’s/SRA Runs 2026 – #1 for Drive-it-Day April 26 and #2 June 21 . Following the usual format with catering . Details from your Scribe.

East – Jill Thornton

Members will be aware that Chris Moore stepped down as Natter Leader and I stepped up !

We had a low attendance at our January Natter/AGM , so some volunteering roles will be discussed at the February Natter.

On behalf of the East Yorkshire Natter, I would like to thank Chris for the tremendous job she has done over the last few years. Chris will still be a very active member of the Club, and has agreed, once again , to be Secretary for the Wolds Way event. Volunteers will be needed for several roles, registration, marshalling, etc.

Ray will once again be our Comps and Events organiser, Greg is Evening Social Run co-ordinator, and Natter Secretary.

Many thanks to June Reid for organising our Christmas Lunch at the Cave Castle , and to Ray fro writing the scenic run.

We have a busy year ahead. I hope the weather is kind to us !

Vale of York – James Thornborough

Strong attendance with 26 members attending. Natter member Rick Illingworth gave an interesting and informative talk on the road safety charity IAM Roadsmart. The talk covered what is involved in nthe advanced driver programme and how to apply to your local Advanced Driver’s Group. Rick is an IAM volunteer.Through audience participation, Rick was able to highlight how driving habits become ingrained, which in turn dull the senses and lead to adverse safety awareness. The late great MG land speed record driver George Eyston stated that ‘In the last analysis , it is the person at the wheel who dictates the situation. Smoothness, anticipation, and above all concentration, these are the factors which distinguish the good driver from the merely ordinary.’ Rick would only add one word to that sage statement, and that is OBSERVATION . Learn how to read the road.

South – Rob Mitchell

Despite a very murky evening, mostly everyone managed to attend the year’s first Natter at the Old Post Office, and we gave a warm welcome to new members, Richard  and Sue Rawson. We look forward to seeing you at future Natters and events with your TF or HS – or both .

Nine cars set off from the designated starting point in Doncaster for the traditional first outing of the year : the Chilly Willy Run. Thanks go to Pete Long and Keith Pinder for organising this event.

Steve Dobson provided Club updates and a reminder of up-coming events and , as always, please don’t delay with your applications – we all know how quickly time can fly. A huge thank you to Steve for his commitment, assistance and support over the last two years as he steps down from the SY Natter Leader role .
