Nine crews enjoyed a run around Skipton and Burnsall organised by David Nunn and Lee, ending up at TheTempest for a drink and Natter. Luckily this year the weather was kind and the views over the fells were spectacular. Apologies for absence were received from several couples, and the evening was rounded off with news of forthcoming events.

East – Jill Thornton

June’s Natter was spent chatting about upcoming events and plans for the Summer. Thanks to June

and Tony Reid for organising this month’s social run , 13 cars attended and enjoyed a scenic route

finishing at The Gardeners Arms, Coniston near Hull.

The August [and final] social run is on Thursday 28th, leaving from the fire station car park Beverley. Last car off no later than 7pm .

Ray Snowley has been busy organising events so look out for his emails with further information.

Vale of York – James Thornborough

The June Natter was treated with sizzling weather. Full Summer safeguards required. Never has a cold drink tasted so refreshing. The June Natter welcomed a new member, David Keats. David has just completed a 4 year restoration of an MG A. His first restoration. Maybe not his last ! Phil King, a stalwart member, along with Gary Simpson, have planned a Theakston Brewery Trip in Masham for August 23rd. A proper brewery, steeped in history. Yorkshire is a blessed County.

South – Rob Mitchell

A total of 13 very shiny cars lined up in the rear car park of The Old Post Office for this year’s Pride of Ownership awards and were carefully scrutinised by Natter members under the evening sun.

After much deliberation and a round of secret voting, the results were announced with Norrie McCredie winning with his lovely MGA. Well deserved, and congratulations to the runners up and the other entrants, but we go again next year.

Amongst the admirers were some potential new members, Alan, Craig and Linden-MGB Roadster and MGA owners and we hope to see you again at future Natters, events, etc.

Several members are joining many others from around the country attending MGF30 in early July and plans are in place for the Dales Run in August. Get your entries in unless already done so !
