‘Guess the Photo’ was the theme for our April Natter. David & Carol Copeman had collected photographs of members from their young [and in some cases very young !] days and we had to identify as many members as possible, which was no easy task , and provided great entertainment for all ! Winners were Kate Marsden & Keith Beningfield.
A number of our members were taking part in the Daffodil Run 13th April, and were keeping fingers crossed that the glorious Spring weather would hold for the event. Drive-it-Day followed 27th April.

We had a lively ‘Steal the Prize’ raffle at the April Natter – to much hilarity !! Several events gone ahead this month which will be reported on by the relevant Natters. Our Wolds Way report will appear in the next issue.
Our May social run is on Thursday 29th, and the June one Thursday 26th. Leaving the Fire Station car park in Beverley, last car off no later than 7pm. East Yorkshire Pride of Ownership will be held at the July Natter on Thursday 10th.

All classic car owners look forward to ‘Drive it Day’. The Vale of York Natter beat the starter’s pistol with an ‘Early Bird’ Drive it Day on April 6th. The reason for the early date , was the attraction of Cravens Motorcycle Museum near York , opening it’s doors for the 2025 season. It is stuffed withy historic motorcycles and all manner of related memorabilia. I have seen a few motorcycle museums in my time, but none come close to the inventory at this site . Cravens Motorcycle Museum was the star attraction of the ‘Early Bird’ Run , but as with all runs, there was plenty to see besides. Yorkshire is truly blessed with wonderful scenery, and the wather gods blessed the run with golden sunshine.

A very dry and sunny April meant some great excuses to get our cars out, so although slightly chilly on the day, we had a fantastic ‘Summer Wine’ Daffodil Run on 13th April. More details are reported elsewhere in this issue of SF but it was great to see so many well turned-out cars, most of which completed the route .This was particularly pleasing since a few had already travelled some distance to get to the Start. Thanks again to all concerned with funds raised going to Marie Curie.
The following weekend, we met at the Cheswold Lodge pub in Doncaster for a Drive it Day breakfast, before setting off on an excellent, hot’n sunny 50 mile route finishing at the Yorkshire Wildlife Park. Thank you to Steve & Marie Dobson for arranging this event. The Park has a range of animals and is well worth a trip if you haven’t visited or not visited recently.
Upcoming events include the Dales Run. Please get in touch for more information.
