Dear MG Car Club Yorkshire Centre Members
Where does time go? Yes, it’s that time of year again, where we are looking forward to a new year of MG events and our AGM/Awards Lunch at the Bridge Hotel near Wetherby, on Sunday 18th February 2024.
We are dinning in the larger of the two rooms available, the Ribston Room (the one we used for Alan Dakeyne’s 90th Birthday). If there is room, you may park directly on the right, as you enter the car park outside the door leading to the Ribston Room on your left, where a bar is also available. From memory we have also used the car park to the right-hand side of the main entrance.
Yes, this year we are amalgamating the Awards Lunch and AGM into one event, rather than a day/evening.
To enable us to eat at 1pm prompt, PLEASE arrive for 12.30. The awards presentation will follow the luncheon, with the AGM scheduled to commence at 3pm.
Please note that only MG Car Club members (of any Centre) may attend the AGM, and only Yorkshire Centre members may vote, so you must bring your membership card with you. In the case of joint memberships, both members must show their own card.
For those who have not been before, The Bridge Hotel & Spa at Walshford, Wetherby, LS22 5HS is situated between Junctions 46 and 47 off the A1. The venue has been chosen so our Yorkshire Members can drive to the venue in comparative ease and is as near to central as we can get.
The cost will be £25 per head, for a three-course meal with tea or coffee and mints after.
There is no need to select your requirements in advance; you choose on the day from the menu below. Wine for your table can be pre-ordered in the bar area on your arrival.
We have had some lovely lunches together in the past years, I do hope we can attend, in February. A great opportunity to get to know others or connect with like-minded MG enthusiasts in the Yorkshire Centre, whilst chatting over a lovely meal and enjoying the tipple of your taste.
Accommodation is available (B&B); at a cost is £100 for a Room. If you wish to stay, contact the Hotel direct and say you’re attending the MGCC lunch on the 18th February 2024, so don’t delay.
Please telephone: 01937 580556 or 543305 to confirm your booking. My contact is Marisa Mundy the Sales Manager, who from past experience, is happy to give a discounted rate.

I’m delighted to advise that our Director from the MG Car Club Lorraine Noble-Thompson will be joining us. Lorraine was rather ill at the time of the Awards Lunch last year. Lorraine also has her Birthday on Wednesday 21st February. So, enjoys her stay over in Gods County, to celebrate the day!
So, I’m delighted that Lorraine will be joining us and handing out the awards, not only as MG Car Club Yorkshire Centre Director but also in her new role as Club Vice Chairman.
I look forward to seeing you then and hopefully before.
Kind regards Colin
Colin Brear, Chairman MG Car Club Ltd Yorkshire Centre www.mgccyorkshire.co.uk
