MGCC YORKSHIRE CENTRE NATTER NOTES
END OF MAY 2022
EAST – Jill Thornton Sadly we announce the passing of a long standing member and wonderful lady, Linda Fowler. A number of East Yorkshire members attended Linda’s funeral and it was lovely to see a few MGs at the service. Our condolences go out to husband Trevor and daughter Wendy and all the family, she will be missed.
The Wolds Way was a great success despite the initial parking issues!! 74 cars set off from Cave Castle on a beautiful Sunday morning and enjoyed a day of sunshine and lovely scenery. Around 48 stayed on for a wonderful meal at Cave Castle Hotel. We will report total donations to our nominated charities next month.

We have evening social runs on Thursday 30th June, Thursday 28th July and Thursday 25th August. Starting at the Humber Bridge car park, cars leaving no later than 7pm, finishing at a pub.
Unfortunately, due to our Natter venue changing their quiz night to a Thursday and unable (or not permitted) to turn off the speakers in our area we will have to find another venue, ideas welcome.
North Yorks Natter – Jeff Marsden We were to be treated to a talk from a metal detectorist but he phoned the day before the meeting saying he had just tested positive for Covid and therefore would like to defer to a later date.
So we improvised with a “feely bag” competition, comprising 13 items, most of which were car parts. Three teams achieved a score of 10 and the results created great amusement.
The Chair went through the events to come, which are on the Centre web page, after presenting the engraved trophies for the previous month’s ten pin bowling championship. He also instructed us to get polishing ready for next month’s Pride of Ownership competition.
I personally will be racing with son at Oulton Park tomorrow so we are hoping for a dry day to test the new suspension set up.
Hope that gives you some space filler!
Regards
Jeff
