North – Ken Cothliff
The March meeting came just after the Yorkshire Centre annual lunch at the Dower House Hotel in Knaresborough. We did quite well in the trophy sates with yours truly winning the Yorkshire Centre “Fred (Pop) Howard Trophy” for contribution to the centre, and Nick Mann winning the “Kenning Trophy” for his contribution to the North Yorkshire Natter.
We tidied up the programme for the various meetings, and our mystery guest speaker for the night was our own Dennis Greenwood who regaled us with hilarious stories of his time ‘on the buses’ around the Bradford area.
I see “Morris” the MG bear managed to inveigle his way into the last issue of Safety Fast with a pint of Yorkshire Ale. Watch out for him on runs in the Yorkshire area – he’ll try and get you to buy him a pint!! He’ll be on the Canada Run to be sure!
